Type: Sandbox game (Open World)

Overall: This game is about doing whatever you want and you decide the story there are no directions or anything to worry about its just you. For more information read below or check out their website http://www.minecraft.net

Extended Review

Minecraft is a great game with a great concept behind it. It provides hours of enjoyable gameplay for a number of age groups. Everything in the game is completely open; you can do whatever you want. When they say this they mean it, in the main menu they provide a mod/texture pack menu. Texture HD Packs allow you to change the graphics of the game to fit what you think it looks best in.

There is also the ability to host a server for free using several different programs, which allows you to invite your friends to play with you on the same exact level that you all create and destroy. It is a sandbox game where you create your own home, weapons, life, and path. There are no directions or a plot it’s all pure player decision. To do things you walk around and mine things as the title suggests, there are many different elements to mine, like wood, cobblestone, coal, obsidian, dirt, sand, and many more. Once you mine these items you craft them into different items.

Currently there are over 250 different creatable items and this is only beta, which means there are still more to come. There are many different randomly generated worlds and you can choose which ones that you want to play by selecting a seed number.

It even provides for those that need to have battle, at night and even during the day many different creatures will come out and try and kill you, and believe me they will. To defend yourself you can build weapons, defense systems, houses etc. The game provides a great physics system though and allows the enemies to blow up your house. For the people who don’t want to deal with this they can simply build a bed and go to sleep at night or they can go to peaceful mode where there are no problems and health regenerates.

The downfall for this game tends to be that it is in beta mode and there are still bugs that they are working out. But because it’s in beta they are working to fix those. Some might find the game tedious after a long time, but there is plenty to do you just have to find out what to do. Many great resources can be found at the MineCraft Wiki.

Overall MineCraft creates a unforgettable gaming experience that anyone can pick up, that can even bring those don’t game into the hobby. For $15 dollars you can’t go wrong this is also a deal since this is still in beta you’re getting money off, you can also share this with
friends because there are unlimited downloads.

Minecraft is currently in beta, available to players for €14.95.

Beta singleplayer and Beta multiplayer, when purchased, can be played in the user's web browser, or using the downloadable client.

Minecraft Classic is available to play for free. Minecraft development started around the 10th of May 2009, pre-orders for the full game started being accepted on the 13th of June 2009. Minecraft's official release date is planned to be a week or so later than the 11th of November 2011.
